The pasta and noodle dishes were dry, the clams were too sweet. There was also a fried rice and udon noodle station. The fried rice was doused in so much black pepper that it was literally all I could taste. Most of us were pretty unhappy by this point of the night.

I tried a few cakes and found them dry. The chocolate covered strawberries were still there but they only had them in white chocolate, which they sprinkled with cinnamon I thought that was a little weird.

I prefer the dark chocolate or milk chocolate ones. They also offered mango and green tea ice cream. I was surprised by how good the ice cream was. The mango tasted like real mangoes rather than the artificial taste that I often find with mango ice cream. The green tea ice cream also had a strong matcha flavor to it and the color looks like a good matcha powder rather than food coloring green. The ice creams were my favorite part of the meal. Most of us were pretty unhappy with this meal.

I did pause to wonder if we were a little jaded since my family has experience some great buffets in the Bay Area. On the surface, this place looks like a great deal with so much variety. I was especially disappointed with the sushi. Usually such an expensive price for a buffet is justified by the fact that they are serving better quality ingredients, but the sushi quality was really bad.

Overall, we were really disappointed. On a positive note, our server was great. He was constantly refilling our waters and clearing our plates. We had such high hopes going in.

But over the years, it seemed their selection and quality declined and we stopped going too. The green tea ice cream was my favorite part of the meal too. I liked getting it in cones though. Yeah, we went for my graduation and a few other occasions. I thought new name and new space would also mean better food, but I could not believe how bad the quality was.

Do you have any recommendations for unlimited sushi in San Diego? If you only want sushi, and no other food items, Tadashi in downtown La jolla is pretty good you have to sit at the bar, and then u can order anything off of their sushi menu list which includes some appetizers, rolls, nigiri sushi, etc. The pics of the sashimi really looked awful thou. That would have been the only reason why I would have tried this place at night for dinner. How terrible would that be if that was true. I saw that on a news report once.

When I went to Onami for lunch, I thought their cold appetizer section was good. Did they have the cold eggplant salad, squid salad, etc? But so glad you enjoyed their ice cream whew! I definitely would not recommend this place for dinner. No not uni. I forgot what it was called.

I remember not knowing what it was and thought I might as well try it and I thought it looked like uni too! Actually I think the cold appetizers were okay. I had the seaweed salad and that was pretty good. I probably should have. Chuck E. Claim Jumper —Receive a free red velvet cupcake on your Birthday when you dine in at one of their restaurants.
